La Capannina Pizzeria, a traditional Italian eatery is pleasing long-time patrons, as well as a writer for The East Hampton Star, a daily newspaper directly targeting residents and visitors of the Hamptons.
The article, titled "Hold the Anchovies," explains how one of the proprietors, Lorenzo Renna, found his way into the pizzeria business and how La Capannina is continuing to attract
visitors in droves. "The partners use traditional recipes for their pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, entrees and salads, but 'we added our own touches," wrote East Hampton Star writer Isabel
Carmichael. "People from Sag Harbor to Montauk go to the pizzeria to eat in or order out."
The pizzeria is also a popular destination because it is located on the busy Montauk highway. "It doesn't hurt that the westbound Jitney stop is right in front of the restaurant, but even
without that, a steady trove of workers on their way to and from work stop there" said Carmichael.
La Capannina Pizzeria boasts an all-encompassing menu ranging from antipasti, pizza, pasta, Italian entrees and desserts. The Margherita pizza, with plum tomatoes, basil, fresh garlic,
and mozzarella, is an all-time favorite along with other authentic pasta dishes and Italian entrees. La Capannina Pizzeria also does catering for large parties.
