Doggie8217samp Their Designers Fall Winter Fashion Show amp quotSuper...

Yes, fashion has gone to the dogs. Pets have become more than just a companion, they have become full-fledged members of the family, and consequently owners want to give them the best, from all natural foods and treats, to spoiling them with the latest, most fashionable canine clothing/accessories and luxury furniture to match their household décor.

Sales of pet clothing and higher end products are now a 4 billion dollar industry and slated to grow even more over the next 4 years. Just like their children, pet parents are looking for opportunities to celebrate that special relationship they have with their pets. Here at Urban Pet our mission is to assist them by organizing events, workshops & seminars throughout the year to help strengthen the bond as well as educate them on the quality products available in today's8217;s market.

This year we have found a new and exciting venue for what is becoming a much in demand annual event. This years's8217; show will be held on Tuesday October 18th starting at 6pm at the old Darling Foundry building, which was converted to a Visual Arts Centre/Gallery (www.quartierephemere.org). Also, attached to the gallery is Cluny Art Bar (named after one of the owner's8217;s pug - www.cluny.info/index.html) who will be serving some of Montreal's8217;s best cocktails and canapés.

Our dog models will walk the 's8220;catwalk's8221; as half a dozen designers of couture and everyday casual wear for our canine friends showcase their latest lines. Pet owners get to see the latest styles and get a chance to mingle with other pet owners.

Urban Pet has enjoyed success by bringing to the consumer fun and exciting products for their pets, many of our items created and made right hear in Montreal, and we wish to continue to help those in the industry and this event gives us the chance to bring the focus to these creative persons and the quality items they design.

Once again, patrons are encouraged to bring their dog/s along with them to attend the show and a special 's8220;Doggie Buffet's8221; will be available. As in the past events vendors of a variety of pet products and services will be on hand to offer advice, give out samples and sell their range of products. After the show patrons have the chance to browse through the booth area.

This year's8217;s name to remember is Romy & Jacob, a new luxury line of pooch parkas. This new Montreal label is one of the few labels designing, manufacturing and distributing high-end dog coats in a sweat-shop free environment. R&J is implicated in various causes involving job market reinsertion for women and has made the Petites Mains organization (www.petitesmains.com) their main contractor. To top it off, their coats are to die for with reversible and machine washable fabrics's8230; and yes, they make all sizes. Enter your talented pooch in our 's8220;Super Dogel Search.'s8221;

All proceeds of this event aid Rosie Animal Adoption in their continued effort to find homes for abandoned and abused dogs.

Rosie Animal Adoption is dedicated to the coordination of orphaned animals and adoptive homes into a support network to ensure the survival of unwanted pets. Their philosophy is to protect and ensure the survival of adoptable dogs. Rosie's8217;s is dedicated to finding responsible and loving homes for misplaced, neglected and unwanted dogs. Their goal is to educate the public and pet lovers on responsible pet ownership, which includes: spaying and neutering of pets, behavioral guidelines to ensure problem behaviors are dealt with before the pet is abandoned and to inform prospective pet owners of the special qualities, characteristics and requirements of a pet before they acquire it.

Rosie Animal Adoption (RosieAnimalAdoption.org) hopes to eventually eliminate the need for any and all adoption programs as the public becomes more educated. Rosie Animal Adoption was founded in 2001 when two friends, both volunteers at animal shelters, decided to combine forces and venture out on their own. Rosie Animal Adoption is NOT a shelter and is not affiliated with any animal welfare or humane organization, which makes their task even more difficult. They do not receive any financial assistance from these groups. Rosie'ss is a Registered Charity, which means they are a non-profit organization; funded by donations and hard work; dedicated to the welfare, protection, and safe adoption of house pets.
