The Gallery at Dunia, The Earth-Friendly Store for Home, Body and Soul(SM) proudly presents Magic: Outside/Inside, a collection of canvases and works on paper by Maynard-based artist
Sarah Jeppson. Jeppson deftly integrates watercolor, monoprint, pastel, charcoal, collage and other media into visual tone poems, imbued with myth, dream-narrative and an eccentric sense
of play. The exhibit will run from June 27th through August 19th, and the gallery will host an artist's8217;s reception on Sunday, July 16th, from 2 to 5 P.M. The public is invited to
attend. Jeppson will donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of her art to Earthwatch Institute (www.earthwatch.org), a non-profit organization
that supports scientific field research by offering volunteers the opportunity to join research teams around the world.
Magic: Outside/Inside explores boundaries that are existential 's8211; between human and animal, material and spiritual, intellect and instinct, and freewill and destiny, among others
's8211; as well as artistic. By turns visible and invisible, concrete and ethereal, Jeppson's8217;s universe is a loose tapestry of innumerable, permeable worlds, and every being is a
potential shape-shifter. 's8220;This isn's8217;t just physical,'s8221; clarifies Jeppson, 's8220;It includes the mind and feelings too. Intuition, empathy, language's8212;even
myth's8212;create communication and a sense of place within our world.'s8221;
Sarah Jeppson's8217;s accolades include 's8220;Best Work on Paper,'s8221; 1995 Arts Worcester Biennial; Third Prize at the 1995 Fitchburg Art Museum's8217;s 60th Regional Exhibit; and the
Artists's8217; Alternative Award at the 1996 Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. She holds a B.A. in Art from Hampshire College, Amherst MA, and has studied at Columbus College of Art and
Design, Columbus OH, and at Clark University and the Worcester Art Museum, both in Worcester MA. Sarah Jeppson currently plies her art in her studio in ArtSpace Maynard.
's8220;Sarah's8217;s work informs us that all beings are sentient beings,'s8221; said Dunia Co-Owner Paige O's8217;Brien, 's8220;in a lighthearted, whimsical kind of way. I find it
extremely joyful.'s8221;
