Tri North Lighting Announces Agreement to Sell Color Kinetics Intelliwhite...

May 4, 2005 -- This new white lighting produces very little heat compared to halogen and other types of light bulbs. These bulbs are extremely energy efficient and they are the most durable lighting product on the market. These light bulbs will outlast any traditional bulb currently on the market due to the way LED lights work. You can leave these bulbs on for 50,000 hours (5.7 years strait) until they need to be replaced. Currently, traditional halogen and florescent bulbs can only last from 400-2000 hours.



LED intelliwhite bulbs do have a larger upfront cost. But once you factor in the energy savings and replacement costs over time. In the long run a consumer will save a lot of money. Tri North Lighting is the first dealer in the western New York area marketing this new product on-line.



These first-of-their-kind, intelligent white illumination systems combine advanced high-brightness white LEDs with Color Kinetics' digital control expertise to enable both traditional and completely new uses of high-quality white light.



IntelliWhite systems extend the efficiencies, long-life, durability, no UV, and no radiated heat benefits of LEDs to white light applications, while adding intelligence to surpass the capabilities of conventional lighting systems. They apply Color Kinetics' pioneering expertise in developing integrated, industry-proven solid-state lighting systems, as well as patented and patent-pending control, power and dimming technologies that enable a number of unique functionalities.



Intelliwhite systems are ideal for applications in areas where conventional white light sources are impractical, for example, where fixtures are concealed or hard to access, where heat emission poses danger or damage, in harsh or vibration-prone environments, and where frequent maintenance and replacement of lamps is undesirable. They encompass a range of versatile fixtures and lamps, controllers, power/data supplies and accessories for applications where color temperature control and consistency have posed challenges - from architectural highlights and merchandise display cases, to testing facilities and television studios.



IntelliWhite products leverage Color Kinetics' Optibin technology, a proprietary LED production binning optimization process, to ensure consistent color of light output from one fixture or lamp to the next. Additionally, they apply patented and patent-pending technologies that support two general categories; color temperature controllable and fixed color dimmable.



Color temperature controllable products gain their intelligence from Chromacore, the proven technology that underlies Color Kinetics' existing intelligent solid-state lighting systems. Chromacore controls channels of warm white and cool white LEDs to produce output of color temperatures within the range of 3000 - 6500 Kelvin from within a single fixture. These products allow independent adjustment of brightness, color temperature, or both.

Tri North Lighting opened its doors December of 2004 under the direction of President Jeffrey Beach. Jeffrey holds a BS Degree in Industrial Management from the University of Tennessee. He has two years of experience in Fiber Optic and LED lighting and has designed and led installation teams on numerous projects in the Atlanta, Georgia marketplace before relocating to New York.
