Has Our Brain Development Been Halted by Our Eating Habits

April 23, 2005 -- Imagine an ideal world where we were all geniuses and operated on a higher consciousness, where one could communicate on a more advanced mental level and consequently eliminate the fear, anxiety, distrust and miscommunication that is often the cause of so much conflict in the world.

To many, this may sound like the basis of a far-fetched science fiction movie, but plant biologist Tony Wright believes that something like this began to happen, but was slowly lost when the significant brain expansion of early man ground to a halt. He says that it all comes down to eating habits, lifestyle and hormones. To back up his claims, evidence from an eminent Professor suggests that these latent higher abilities are present in all of us.

In his ground-breaking research Tony has found that when fruit was the main dietary constituent for ancestral man its chemical compounds reacted in a unique way with our bodies, boosting activity in the brain through the modification of our hormone environment and causing it to develop over successive generations. It is ultimately this altered hormone environment that Tony believes has been the overriding factor in brain degeneration.

As a result, when man was forced out of the receding forests by climatic changes, our brain development began to degenerate because the fruit chemicals were no longer present to maintain the new hormone environment. In addition, humans developed general weaknesses in their bodies and immune systems.

As man began to eat more savannah and grassland foods e.g. seeds, tubers and meat, he also developed the degenerative diseases and behavioural disorders that we see in abundance today. Although human teeth are considered omnivorous in design, they are actually less robust than closest relatives, more closely resembling primate teeth designed for consuming mainly fruit and plants.

It is well documented that certain foods enhance brain function, whilst others inhibit performance and the benefits of more nutritional eating has been currently highlighted by Jamie Oliver and his Feed Me Better campaign.

Tony believes that the logical left hemisphere of the brain has suffered the greatest degeneration and that the creative right side of the brain is both inhibited by the left and missing essential ingredients to operate at full capacity, meaning that a suppressed "divine consciousness" really could exist.

He was inspired by research conducted by Professor Alan Snyder at The Centre For The Mind. Professor Snyder believes that "switching off" the left side of the brain has the potential to turn normal people into geniuses. Results seem to prove this.

Tony has been encouraged by the results of a previous experiment he carried out at the Manchester Metropolitan University, supported by the highly respected Professor Dave Collins of Edinburgh University, which showed how sleep deprivation, in conjunction with the proposed missing chemistry, could improve the brain 's functions. Professor Collins was recently appointed performance director of UK Athletics.

Tony says, "I realise that my theory might challenge a lot of current thinking, but following my initial experiment at MMU, I'm absolutely convinced that I'm right. I believe it could be possible for our brains to start to develop again and to operate on a higher level."

This could have far-reaching consequences for the future of our world and these can only be perceived as enormously beneficial to the human race.

Tony concluded, "I think we could be on to something quite extraordinary, but I just need the funding to prove it. And if I can get that, the world will never think of the human mind in the same way again."
