Scientists Focused on Small Things Hit the Road

May 21, 2005 -- MVA Scientific Consultants work with a range of clients and peers to share microanalytical knowledge through leading-edge training, high-level presentations, and research. As part of these efforts, the Firm's Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be participating in a number of presentations and meetings over the next few months:

- On May 25th, Research Microscopist Bryan R. Bandli will make a presentation at The 15th Annual Goldschmidt Conference in Moscow, Idaho. The conference is the premier annual meeting in geochemistry and mineralogy, covering the full range of geochemistry from cosmochemistry to the origin of life.

- July 18th - 21st Bandli will join Managing Director and Senior Research Scientist James R. Millette, Ph.D. in making presentations at the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) Johnson Conference. Dr. Millette is a Subcommittee Vice Chair with ASTM International.

- July 31st - August 4th Managing Director and Senior Research Scientist Tim B. Vander Wood, Ph.D. heads to Honolulu, Hawaii to attend The Microscopy and Microanalysis 2005 Meeting. At the meeting, Dr. Vander Wood will present a paper that he authored in collaboration with the Firm's Rachel Rose.

These events follow earlier SME appearances at the Symposium on Air Quality Measurement Methods and Technology 2005 in San Francisco, CA and at the ASTM International Committee E56 on Nanotechnology in Reno, NV. Dr. Vander Wood is a founding member of the E56 Committee, which currently consists of 70 members and organizations representing over twelve countries.
