Dr. Robert H. Sues Renamed ARA Chief Executive Officer



he Board of Directors renamed Dr. Robert H. Sues ARA'ss Chief Executive Officer. The appointment will go into effect Oct. 1, 2009.


Albuquerque, N.M. (Vocus) August 14, 2009 -- On Aug. 5, 2009, Applied Research Associates, Inc. Board of Directors renamed Dr. Robert H. Sues ARA'ss Chief Executive Officer. The appointment will go into effect Oct. 1, 2009. Dr. Sues, currently ARA's8217;s President and Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Chief Executive Officer Dr. Cornelius J. Higgins, who will remain a member of the Board.



Dr. Sues originally joined ARA in 1986 and has served as Chief Executive Officer (2004 to 2007), Chief Operating Officer, Sector Manager, Division Manager, Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Executive Vice President. As Executive Vice President, Dr. Sues's responsibilities included strategic planning, and strategic plan execution. As a Senior Vice President and Sector Manager, Dr. Sues was in charge of the operations of several offices. In that role his responsibilities included business development, personnel development, project management, and business operations management.



With over 26 years experience in research, development, testing, and systems engineering, Dr. Sues is a recognized expert in probabilistic mechanics, advanced software systems for battle-space decision support, and weapons effects. He has authored or co-authored more than 70 technical papers published in journals or conference proceedings. Dr. Sues earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. He earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Sues is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of California and North Carolina.
