Euroscicon Where Science Comes Out of the Lab

It's8217;s not often acknowledged but academia needs business to fund and apply its work, and business needs to keep in touch with academia to stay profitable and at the cutting edge. Euroscicon (European Scientific Conferences) is an organisation that prides itself on regularly bringing the two together - providing an environment for scientists to interact, exchange information and improve networks at specifically organised and highly focused events.



Euroscicon host unbiased events where scientists from many fields can participate and offer their own experiences of technology that can help improve the experiments of others. Founder of Eurosicon, Dr Shara Cohen, BSc (Hons), PhD, MIBiol, CBiol, MRCPath, FWIF, believes that Eurosicon fills the need for more active communication between companies and researchers within the Life Sciences.

Dr Cohen's8217;s background is in Applied Biology (BSc-1985) with a focus on Immunology (PhD-1989). She has studied, worked and taught in many prestigious international establishments including Cambridge University, London University, The Mount Sinai Hospital (New York) and The Royal Postgraduate Medical School (London). Dr Cohen has been a senior scientist, a university lecturer and head of a research group. She co-founded the UK Cord Blood Immunology Group (chairman from 2000 - 2004) and has over 100 scientific papers, books and book chapters to her name. In addition to her scientific communications she has been active in bringing science to the non-scientist, by written communications and television. She is also a scientific consultant and sits on several advisory boards.



Euroscicon commissions regular surveys to discover what scientists need to know and who they's8217;d like to hear it from. Euroscicon can then organise events to maximise on this information specifically for its delegates.



Up and coming events include Tissue Engineering Today, not Tomorrow where Professor Colin McGuckin - University of Newcastle and Dame Julia Polak, of Imperial College, London will be discussing the topic of the moment, Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine.
