nLIGHT Corporation today announced the newest addition to its Pearl Fiber-Coupled Module product family: 100 watts with 50% electrical to optical efficiency. The Pearl product family is based on single-emitter diodes rather than the 1-cm bar, which resets the industry reliability benchmark for high-power fiber-coupled diode lasers, operating CW or pulsed.
The new offering produces 100 watts at selected wavelengths from 795-980nm out of 400m or 600m fiber with 0.22NA. "Utilizing nLIGHT's proprietary nXLT single-emitter diodes, greater
than 50% wall plug efficiency is achieved," commented Keith Kennedy, Pearl Product Line Manager. "High efficiency enables significant system cost-reductions for our customers through
higher reliability diodes, the use of low current power supplies, and reduced system cooling requirements." Pearl products exhibit a combination of high brightness and high power that are
ideally suited for both pumping (DPSSL, Disk Lasers and Fiber Lasers) and direct diode applications such as plastic welding and direct marking.
