Brett Carter, one of the founding members of Next Generation Financial Services, a Division of 1st Mariner Bank, (NGFS) has been elected President of the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association.



Founded in 1949, the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association is an organization committed to helping its members conduct business and ensuring the continued strength of the real estate finance industry and mortgage lending field. They possess a steadfast dedication to promote ethical business practices and integrity-based lending. They continually strive to help their members provide superior financial loan services to residents of Maryland and expand homeownership statewide.

They serve as an advocate for the mortgage banking industry, constantly staying abreast of key legislative and regulatory issues at the state and local levels while representing the interests of their members. Mr. Carter is President and one of the founding members of Next Generation Financial Services (NGFS) providing conventional mortgages, financial services and reverse mortgages through a network of member financial associates throughout the United States. Prior to assuming his role as President of NGFS, he served as President of 1st Mariner Mortgage a Division of 1st Mariner Bank. Under his leadership 1st Mariner Mortgage has become one the of the leading mortgage lenders in the Mid-Atlantic Region with annual production exceeding 1 Billion dollars in closed loan volume. Mr. Carter was also President of VA Mortgage.Com, the Internet Mortgage Division of 1st Mariner Mortgage, providing mortgage services nationwide.



Brett has extensive experience in both the primary and secondary credit markets as well as effective risk management. He has a proven track record of managing and building companies from the formative stages to companies funding over 1 billion dollars in annual volume and 50 million in annual revenues.



Brett Carter has 25 years of experience in the financial service industry. He was named one of the most influential people under forty in Maryland, and has been a featured sales and motivational speaker for many organizations such as: The Home Builders Association, The Realtors Association, The Mortgage Bankers Association, Salisbury University, University of Baltimore, Loyola College, United Guaranty Insurance Corporation and AIG. Mr. Carter has trained over 3,000.00 financial advisors in effective cash flow management strategies.
