Sunwest Management Raises 75000 for Meals on Wheels

In 2006 Sunwest responded to a call for financial help from the Salem-Keizer Meals on Wheels program by organizing and hosting a golf tournament to raise money for seniors.

In its first year, the golf tournament turned out better than anyone expected, raising $44,000. In 2007 Sunwest hosted the Second Annual Lenders and Vendors for Seniors Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament, which was held at Langdon Farms in Aurora, Oregon, produced almost double the amount of money it raised in year one.

As Sunwest donated $75,000 to Salem-Keizer Meals on Wheels, Ted Stang, the President of Salem-Keizer Meals on Wheels responded by saying, "we are blown away by this year's gift."

In presenting the check, Darryl Fisher, Sunwest's Chief Operating Officer, said, "It is such an honor to support your program. We think what you do for seniors in our area is awesome. It's community-based and effective. We want to see it succeed and continue to serve our community."
