Brampton Adult Soccer Mens Week 1 Review

May 11, 2005 -- Week 1 of Brampton Adult Soccer's Men's League appeared to be suffering a great deal of bad luck. City of Brampton officials notified the league, with only days to go before kick off, that a number of fields would be barred from use due to the recent spell of wet weather. As the day approached however, rescheduling miracles allowed the league to proceed almost as planned; 4 matches had their venue moved and only 2 matches were postponed until Saturday, May 14th, 2005.



With 14 of 16 scheduled matches being played out, there was more then enough activity to go around.

In Division 1, returning outdoor champions, Richview Utd., stunned their opponents 14 - 0, an uncommon score line. Sunday League Records FC (formerly FC Porto United) could be looking at a long and arduous season if the results of their matches continue to unfold in this manner.



A team that is now earmarked as 'to be watched' are the KCM Ambassadors, who rose high above their opponents the Enforcers.



There were three shut outs in Division I; in addition to Richview's 14 - 0 result, both Xavier United and newly promoted A-Team managed a clean sheet in similar 5 - 0 victories.



Winter Indoor Champions, Armada I, while managing to garner all three points from Sunday's match up, still failed to impress. Injuries and absences were cited as a possible explanation, however, all explanations aside, Armada would be well suited to pick up the pace if they wish to continue their winning ways. It doesn't appear that the teams currently above them will be willing to wait for Armada to gather steam.



The Fall Indoor Champion Warriors were set to participate in one of the matches that was rescheduled and the Winter Indoor Division II Champions, KFC (formerly FC Write-Offs), after being promoted to Division I, started the season with a convincing 5 - 1 result over the Structform Strikers.

Division II appears to be the one with greater parity, as there were very few blow outs and none anywhere near the top 2 Division I fiascos.



Sur Latino's 7 - 1 win over B.T. Rangers and Samba Squad's 5 - 0 win over The Chops, were the two match ups containing the greatest disparity.



Division II (and BAS) stalwarts Unknown Strikers and Armada II faced off and continued their rivalry with Unknown coming out on top with a 4 - 3 score line.



Working towards furthering the concept of Divisional parity, Brampton Athletic and Nisim International hustled their way to a 3 - 3 draw; the first draw of the season.
