Nonprofit Agency to Utilize PrePaid Legal Services to Empower the Lowincome Their Children and Businesses
IBSA, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Kansas, will now promote and provide Pre-Paid Legal Services to low-to-moderate income households (LMI). After hurricane Katrina and Rita it is apparent that people can be displaced without notice and with displacement comes other legal and financial woes. IBSA finds no other service comparible to meeting the special needs of this population as they begin to get their life back in order.
Many people know that PRE-PAID LEGAL SERVICES® is designed to provide professional legal services for individuals, their family and their business. It covers almost anything imaginable, from simple traffic violation through vehicular homocide.
IBSA, as a premier service provider of employment and training services is focusing its efforts with this program on getting all of our friends, supporters and clients a completed or updated "Will" and to also ensure them and their children have access to the same quality legal representation (not an over-worked & under-paid public defender) as other kids from wealthier communities.
Besides giving individuals living in low income housing, receiving public assistance and having dependent children an opportunity to better themselves by purchasing this service, we are also seeking individuals interested in sponsoring a family for one-year. IBSA will then make sure they have a will completed and that they are fully aware on how to use this service to its maximum benefit.
Individuals that obtain Pre-Paid Legal Service Membership through IBSA will also receive small business consultation, career counseling for their children and referrals to other community resources that can help them reach self-sufficiency.
