Website Gives Disaster Victims a Voice
Of the thousands of people affected by hurricane Katrina, only a small handful have been able to get their stories heard through the media. MySurvivalStories.com (http://www.mysurvivalstories.com) is a free public forum where everyone's story can be heard.
A place where people can share their experiences of survival, hope, triumph and sorrow, MySurvivalStories.com is a safe, non-exploitative environment for people to come together, share, and heal.
It is a simple forum with three sections: The Events, Help Links, and Find My Family.
The Events section currently holds the single topic of Katrina, but others will be added for whatever major events affect people's lives.
Help Links is where people can post websites or contact information for Local, National, and International organizations that can help victims and survivors.
The Find My Family section allows people who have not been able to find loved ones to post names, descriptions, locations and other relevent information to assist in finding those who are lost.
