Help Katrina Victims Get Jobs in Las Vegas Nevada
Clark County officials reported on Thursday that a total of 800 Hurricane Katrina victims have already registered at the assessment center located at the 7,000 square-foot Fertitta Community Assistance Center since opening on Wednesday, September 7th 2005.
131 families have also been placed in long-term housing by the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. These numbers will continue to grow as more displaced people enter the valley over the coming weeks.
To assist these families in the creation of their new lives, Connecting Point Technology Center and Las Vegas.Net are collaborating to provide a central location to communicate job openings in the Las Vegas area that could possibly be filled by displaced hurricane Katrina victims.
If you have positions that those affected may be able to fill, please post your needs at www.cpvegas.com/katrina and be a part of the solution.
