New Smart Black Box Drive Recorder Unit Captures External VehicleEvents...

Due to the rising demand for security and evidence in an increasingly hectic driving world, KCI Communications, Inc. now offers an effective and affordable mobile solution to provide drivers with enhanced video and data recording. At the Smart Black Box website (http://www.thecarblackbox.com) you will be able to view a demo video, download literature, and securely purchase online.

With a built-in high resolution color camera, digital video recorder, GPS, and 3-Axis G-Shock sensor, the Smart Black Box allows drivers to supply their own evidence in the event of a car accident or any other questionable event on the road. Smart Black Box is an extremely compact and durable unit that adhesively mounts to the windshield behind your rear view mirror. When a pre-determined amount of G-force is met, the Smart Black Box automatically activates recording, putting the latest image to memory (15 seconds prior to impact). The built-in GPS provides pin-point accuracy of the time and date, vehicle location, vehicle speed, and direction of travel. This data is embedded on the video overlay itself, so even when the video is exported to AVI format, the vehicle speed, direction, location (latitude 's38; longitude), and time/date remain overlaid.

The Smart Black Box is as technologically sophisticated as it is practical. An easy user interface is makes it possible for drivers with minimal technical skills to extract the data from the unit and transfer to a computer. Files are recorded directly to a SD card (2GB included, supports up to 16GB) which ensures that data cannot be corrupted or lost due to its solid-state flash storage technology. The unique playback viewer software makes it effortless to view, analyze, and save video files to your PC. Integrated Google's8482; Maps uses the GPS data to display the exact route taken during the recorded incident and updates the location along with each video frame. Users can also print accident reports with the push of a button by simply selecting the desired video frame(s) and adding a report title, subject, and any additional information. The 3-Axis shock sensor information is also displayed in a three line X, Y, Z graph to help determine the time and point of impact. Users can convert video files to AVI format so they may be played back in standard media players and more easily converted to DVD format.

With the increasing amount of external surveillance, from red light cameras to police dash cams, drivers are constantly being watched and recorded. The Smart Black Box enables drivers to provide their own evidence of any questionable events with extreme precision. Challenge questionable RADAR speed with Smart Black Box'ss GPS speed. Easily prove that red light you went through was actually yellow. Show that the car accident you were involved in was not your fault (even if you are struck from behind, the 3-Axis G-sensor will record the direction of impact). Supply the truth with the new Smart Black Box drive recorder.

For more than a decade, KCI has provided communications systems for law enforcement agencies around the world. Founded in 1994, KCI Communications, Inc. has become a leader and pioneer in communications equipment and digital video recording technology.
