Small Non Profit Raises Over 40000 in 30 Days Despite Bad Economy

While the headlines are filled with non profit organizations suffering (even closing their doors) in the current economic times, One Home Many Hopes stepped outside of their comfort zone and stepped up to the We Need Funds NOW! Challenge - and their concentrated energy paid off.

With an all-volunteer team and only 180 people in their database to start, One Home Many Hopes raised over $40,000 and increased their donor database from 180 to approximately 1,000 people at the end of the We Need Funds NOW! Challenge from October 25th to November 23rd, 2008.

The results show that with the right strategies and implementation, non profits can attract and connect with the right donors - regardless of the economic climate. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization'ss success said Kristy Hall, a non profit speaker and consultant who created the Nonprofit Super Series: We Need Funds NOW! program to help non profit organizations learn how to raise funds fast.

We raised more than $40,000 in 30 days, Thomas Keown, Founder of One Home Many Hopes. When we launched our website last December the notion of $40,000 in the next 12 months was ambitious, but to suggest it in 1 would have sounded farcical. But with a quirky team of volunteers and the principles of the We Need Funds NOW Challenge we have exceeded even that and, most critically, have introduced nearly 1000 new people to our mission. The impact of that will long outlast the money.

One Home Many Hopes is a Boston-based non profit, providing former Kenyan street children with a home, education and a chance at a healthy and productive life. Forty-thousand dollars is One Home Many Hopes's annual budget and will provide housing, education and medical care for these 35 girls for an entire year.

The organization was chosen from over 100 organizations who expressed interest (and of which 25 submitted video applications) with budgets of less than $1M. During the We Need Funds NOW! Challenge, One Home Many Hopes implemented the principles from the Nonprofit Super Series: We Need Funds NOW! program.

A production company filmed the organization'ss process and is creating a documentary/case study to provide a first-hand view of how organizations can succeed in fundraising - even in dark economic times.

All funds raised went directly to One Home Many Hopes.
