Working in the hospitality and retail industries since 1995, Jeremy Hagon had often wondered if there was a simple quick and effective way for his employees to login to their cashier
stations. The simple answer was no, not without changing his whole electronic point of sale (EPOS) infrastructure.
In 2002 he developed a fingerprint authentication system that works on any Windows based desktop PC or EPOS system, enabling employees to abandon the use of magnetic swipe cards and
passwords in favour of using their own fingerprint.
Demonstrating the success rate of this new secure method of authentication over that of passwords and magnetic swipe cards, the system also works with other scenarios such as logging on
to web sites and membership systems such as Gymnasiums and Clubs.
Jeremy hopes that with interest in his product; not only in the UK, but also the USA, it will become one of the main contenders in pushing forward biometric authentication for existing
retailers.
