If you are looking for one of the hottest doubles players on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, look no further than Raquel Kops-Jones, a member of the 2009 Boston Lobsters. Kops-Jones won two tour doubles titles in May, increasing her career total to three, and boosting her doubles ranking to a career high No. 31.Kops-Jones's recent wins were at the Estoril Open in Portugal on May 10 (w/Abigail Spears) and the Warsaw Open on May 23 (w/ Bethanie Mattek-Sands).



Boston area tennis fans will have the opportunity to watch Kops-Jones, along with teammates Martina Navratilova, James Auckland, Jan-Michael Gambill and Stephanie Foretz when the Lobsters return for the 2009 season of the Advanta WTT Pro League in July. The Lobsters start play on the road on July 2 in St. Louis and host their first home match at the Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, Mass., on July 6 against the Kansas City Explorers.

Kops-Jones also had an impressive and well played doubles match at the French Open against the No. 13 ranked team of Vania King and Monica Niculescu who advanced to the next round. Boston Lobster teammate, Stephanie Foretz also played an exciting three-set match at the French Open. Both Raquel and Stephanie are skilled doubles players, amazing to watch and will provide some incredible matches this season, commented Uttam.



This season, the Boston Lobsters line up will feature tennis legend Martina Navratilova, returning for a record 20th season in the League and her fifth with Boston. One of the hottest tickets on the Lobsters's home schedule is July 9 when Boston hosts the Washington Kastles and current world No. 2 Serena Williams. The Lobsters's road schedule also includes a match against another former world No. 1, Andre Agassi, and his Philadelphia Freedoms teammates in Philadelphia.
