Soccer Coach Helps the World Kick a Soccer Ball

It's 4pm on a Thursday afternoon and in Maine, California and Texas three youth soccer enthusiasts are opening their mail. At the same time other football (soccer) enthusiasts in Australia, London, Canada and Singapore are opening the same package. No it's not a new soccer ball or a new set of cleats. It is a new soccer kick training video that seems to be filling a great need throughout the youth soccer training world.

You might say this is what happens when one soccer coach / soccer dad / soccer player finally takes action and creates a training video based on what he needed, not what others thought he should buy. Coach V, a name given to him by one of his youth teams, grew so frustrated that he decided to stop talking about making it and finally producing it. After more than a year the new project (DVD) was released this fall.

The DVD takes an in-depth look at everything about the soccer kick and ball flight. It is truly not just a beginner's "how to kick a soccer ball" training video. Starting with the evolution of the soccer kick, Blast The Ball helps players, parents and coaches better understand why youth players kick the soccer ball wrong. Then it leads you through a semi-scientific look of better understanding what good players do and how they control ball flight. Gear towards all level and ages of soccer players the video then walks you through step by step training sessions or "how to" sections for both beginners and advancing soccer players.

When we spoke with Coach V he was very adamant about the video not being just a beginner's training video.

"When I decided to create this video I was dead set from the beginning that it would not be a short 'fluffy' kicking video. I wanted even the highest level of soccer player to be able to watch it and learn from it. I am thrilled with the feedback we have gotten from those upper level players as well as the parents of beginners. We have had professional soccer players and coaches that have written in all stating the same thing. They wish they had this video when they were younger. Many are now using it for training their players at all levels even up to colleges and pro."
