Angove's Winery -- Australia's Quaff Winery of the Year and one of the country's oldest family-owned wineries -- announces the U.S. debut of its award-winning Nine Vines Wines. Although available in limited amounts last year, this month the U.S. market will get its first official taste nationwide of Angove's award-winning Nine Vines Grenache-Shiraz Ros, Nine Vines Viognier and Nine Vines Shiraz-Viognier.
Angove's was recently crowned 'Winery of the Year' by acclaimed wine critic Peter Forrestal in his annual wine guide Quaff 2008. The U.S. debut of Nine Vines follows on the heels of this
news, bringing American consumers competitively priced, high-quality varietals in hip packaging, all of which have a significant track record of awards and gold medals from both critics
and international wine competitions.
The Nine Vines Ros is a blend of Grenache and Shiraz with a fresh, crisp palate with length and balance that exudes aromas of raspberry and cherry. The Nine Vines Viognier is aromatic and
full-bodied bursting with mouth-filling flavors of apricot, peach and citrus. The Nine Vines Shiraz-Viognier contains six percent Viognier, which imparts soft apricot accents to the spicy
black pepper flavors of the Shiraz.
Wine Spectator Magazine awarded the 2006 Grenache Shiraz Ros 89 points, its "Best Buy" designation and highlighted it in the magazine's 2007 feature article on ros. This lauded ros was
also awarded the Trophy for the Best Ros at the Internationally recognized Decanter Fine Wine Awards in London and won a coveted Top 100 Blue Gold Award at the Sydney International Wine
Competition.
Angove's possesses the rare qualities of being family owned and run for five generations, while feeding on the inspiration and innovative thinking of the latest generation. Victoria
Angove, 30, is leading Angove's forward-thinking approach and was recently chosen for Australia's distinguished Future Leaders Program because of her impact on the wines that Angove's is
presenting. "With 120 years of heritage behind us, we stand to lead the way for the future of Australian wines," she asserts. Aware since the age of nine of her desire to work in the wine
industry, her energy, knowledge, and exceptional palate are revealed in the Nine Vines brand.
The wines retail for $11.99 and will be available in top wine shops and restaurants nationally.
