Biofilms Recent Study Supports Elimination of Biofilm Colonies Sinus...

Aerosol Science Laboratories (http://www.aslrx.com) (ASL Pharmacy) announces today a new formula for topical sinus use containing mupirocin. Mupirocin has been proven effective against biofilms in in vitro clinical studies.

Biofilms have recently been implicated in the chronic nature of sinusitis. From Dr. P. J. Wormald's clinical study, In Vitro Activity of Mupirocin on Clinical Isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and its Potential Implications in Chronic Sinusitis: "Our results suggest that topical mupirocin may be useful in eliminating S. aureus biofilms present on the sinus mucosa of patients with CRS."

ASL's compounded Mupirocin solution is derived from the pure powder, rather than from an ointment. ASL provides easy topical therapy two ways. Currently, ASL can provide these doses:

All of our Irrigation formulas are dispensed as unit dose vials, which are mixed with sterile saline immediately before the patient administers their therapy insuring stability and sterility of the drug. This step is not required with Aerosol therapy.
