Synamatix Joins Illumina Connect Software Support Program to Provide Integrated Bioinformatics Solutions for the Genome Analy



Synamatix announced today that it has become a member of the Illumina Connect program, a bioinformatics program developed by Illumina that provides its customers with access to advanced data analysis applications. The focus of the collaboration is to leverage SynaWorks, an integrated suite of bioinformatics solutions for next generation sequencers, recently launched by Synamatix.

Illumina and Synamatix have signed an agreement to work closely together to provide users of the Illumina Genome Analyzer with enhanced solutions for the analysis and mining of data. Dr. Omoshile Clement, Senior Product Manager of Informatics and Systems at Illumina stated, "We are pleased to have Synamatix in the Illumina Connect program and to help our customers address the considerable challenges they face in sequencing data management and analysis."

Synamatix General Manager, Dr. Arif Anwar said, "The breadth and scale of applications that are now possible with the Illumina Genome Analyzer is revolutionising contemporary molecular biology. We are looking forward to working closely with the Illumina community on a range of exciting genome and transcriptome sequencing projects in Asia, Europe and North America."

Currently, most solution providers only move, store and archive data, whereas Synamatix goes a step further by enabling data analysis, mutation identification and prioritisation of results to help researchers get closer to biological answers.
