First Fantasy Sports Site for Family Play Launches



In today's fast paced world, it has become more difficult for Moms and Dads to spend quality time with their children. To help families across the country looking to connect, FamilyFantasySports.com is launching the first fantasy sports site dedicated to family play.



According to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, nearly 20 million people participate in fantasy sports each year in North America. FamilyFantasySports.com brings the family into the fun by providing exciting and interactive leagues and content that help families build healthier, more rewarding relationships. "I know my friends and I are not the only ones who love fantasy sports and love spending time with our kids," says David J. Miller, the Founder and CEO of FamilyFantasySports.com.



The idea for FamilyFantasySports.com came last fall when David was visiting a friend on a football Sunday in Chicago. "Everyone was talking about their fantasy players, including my buddy's kids and their friends. It was obvious from that moment that fantasy sports could be a great tool for building stronger relationships with our families. Sports and hobbies have always played that role," said Miller.



The first free fantasy leagues offered by FamilyFantasySports.com will coincide with the NFL's 2008 regular season. Participants can join public leagues or create their own 'private leagues' with their families, friends, teammates, neighbors, and others. Family friendly prizes with an emphasis on college savings, education, health and fitness will be awarded during the regular season and after the playoffs.
