Grouper Evolution Adds Support for Atom 10 Feeds

Gecko Tribe, LLC is pleased to announce the latest upgrade to our RSS feed generator, Grouper. Along with a number of minor bug fixes and improvements, this release adds the ability to convert the just-completed Atom 1.0 feed format to RSS.



Atom 1.0, which is in the final bureaucratic stages of completion at the IETF, is the first newsfeed format developed under the auspices of a standards organization. It is the outgrowth of years of experience with newsfeeds, and addresses many of the problems that have troubled developers working with the various versions of RSS.



Grouper Evolution enables applications that do not natively support Atom 1.0 to consume feeds in this new format by converting them to the widely supported RSS 2.0 format. Because Atom 1.0 is brand new, few applications are able to read it at this time. However, many early adopters are already publishing Atom 1.0 feeds, and when Google's Blogger service switches over from Atom 0.3 to Atom 1.0, millions of Atom 1.0 feeds will come online instantly.



Grouper is part of a suite of applications offerred by Gecko Tribe that generate RSS feeds and display them on webpages.



Pricing and Availability

Grouper is available from the Gecko Tribe website at http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/grouper/. A free version is available, as well as a commercial version, Grouper Evolution, with additional features, which is priced at $14.97 for a single user, $39.97 for a single server, and $89.97 for a company license.
