Robert Schullers Crystal Cathedral and Hour of Power Plan to Ramp Up...

Robert A. Schuller, senior pastor of the famed Crystal Cathedral, announced plans today to expand the online availability of the ministry's "Hour of Power" -- the world's first, longest-running, and most-watched weekly televised church service, now in its 39th year. The church plans to significantly increase access to many of the most popular "Hour of Power" broadcasts and make them available "on demand" to a growing audience that wants to watch programs on their own terms.

"Since my father, Dr. Robert H. Schuller, founded this ministry in a drive-in theater, we've dedicated ourselves to delivering to people a positive message of hope, wherever they are," said Pastor Robert A. Schuller. "In that spirit, we were first to take our weekly services to a mass audience via television, at the suggestion of Billy Graham. Expanding our ministry online is the next step in our commitment to connect people in new and creative ways."

The "Hour of Power" has brought in Emmy-winning broadcaster Errol Smith to be the architect for the new media initiative, dubbed, "Connecting YOU to God, Wherever, Whenever, However (tm)." The offering will include robust key word search capabilities and expanded options to download programs to portable media players.
