Ucompass.com Inc. Wins Leadership Award Gives Presentations at IMS...

The IMS Global Learning Consortium named its winners this week in their Learning Impact Awards Program at its Worldwide Learning Impact 2008 Conference held in Austin, TX. Ucompass.com Inc. in Tallahassee, FL was named an award winner in the Leadership Awards Category.

This Leadership Award was given for the presentation, "No LMS No Problem! Enrich QTI and Common Cartridge Framework". Ucompass.com Inc. was one of 23 presenters from various countries around the world. The Enrich QTI and Common Cartridge Framework provides a solution for users who wish to deliver standards-based E-Learning content in the IMS Common Cartridge and QTI (Question & Test Interoperability) formats. The framework created by Ucompass.com Inc. provides the capability to easily upload and present content in this format without the need for a special player or LMS. The framework makes deploying such content as simple as uploading files to a webserver. The backend of the framework is Ucompass.com Inc.'s Enrich Development Platform which enables users to publish web content using traditional modes of publishing including FTP, WebDAV (a web-based file upload mechanism), and even web publishing by e-mail. Enrich is the backend development platform upon which Ucompass.com Inc. is building the next release of its highly successful Educator LMS, Educator 2.

"The IMS Common Cartridge and QTI formats are the primary course packaging and assessment formats upon which we are building our new LMS. We are delighted some of the early work we have been able to release around this effort has been recognized with an IMS Leadership Award," said Edward Mansouri, Ucompass.com Inc.'s CEO who gave the presentation.

In addition to the Leadership Award, Mr. Mansouri's presentation was voted by conference attendees as one of the three "Attendees Favorites" in the "Best in Category" awards.

Mr. Mansouri led two other presentations in the Conference's General Session Tracks. In the Digital Learning Content Track, he presented "Widgets and Embedded Applications", where he highlighted some of the LMS widgets Ucompass.com Inc. has released including AudioRecord and VideoRecord. In the Learning Systems Track he presented "Offline LMS Usage Paradigms" where he showcased some of the desktop-based LMS features Ucompass.com Inc. is building using technologies such as Adobe AIR.
