In honor of National Small Business Week, May 18 - 22, 2009, BatchBlue is hosting this second annual contest to celebrate the companies that are standing up for the forces of good business.
The contest application asks for 200-word-or-less descriptions of how businesses reign triumphant in whatever it is they are doing. Designing socially responsible software Battling the
evil forces of a down economy Doing all this and more while wrangling kids BatchBlue wants to hear the stories from the frontlines of these brave businesses.
Entrepreneurs and small businesses are often so busy working on their big idea that they fly under the radar. The Super Heroes contest is designed to recognize their passion, drive and
moxie, said BatchBlue President Pamela O'sHara. We see stories of exceptional bravery and innovation each week in our SBBuzz Twitter chats, and know that we are witnessing the front lines
of a new economy. BatchBlue wants to use our super powers to honor these heroic businesses and help them succeed.
First-, second- and third-place prizes with be awarded. Prizes include a JetBlue gift card, free BatchBook accounts, Moo business cards, a library of small business-related books --
including World Wide Rave by David Meerman Scott, Duct Tape Marketing by John Jantsch and Escape from Cubicle Nation by Pam Slim, Super Hero loot, T-shirts and custom badges for the
winners's Web sites. Sidekick prizes will also be given to those who nominate winners.
