Clarity Group Inc. Announces the Release of the Healthcare SafetyZone...



Clarity Group, a leading provider of healthcare risk, quality and patient safety software and consulting services, announced today that it has released a new version of the Healthcare SafetyZone's174; Portal (Portal). The new Common Formats Version is built on the Common Formats for data collection provided by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the Department of Health and Human Services, which are in line with the event data collection associated with the 2005 Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act.



The release of the Common Formats Version of the Portal enables healthcare providers to collect event data from across their organizations as part of their Patient Safety Evaluation System. Through the use of the Healthcare SafetyZone's174; Portal - Common Formats Version, healthcare providers can immediately send data to a listed Patient Safety Organization and help ensure the protections set forth in the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act for confidentiality and, in the case of potential medical malpractice litigation, protection from disclosure in discovery.



The creation of the Portal'ss Common Formats Version reflects our mission to enable healthcare providers to execute on their vision for healthcare excellence. We are pleased to make the Common Formats Version of the Portal available so quickly to healthcare providers. This product can integrate into the patient safety initiatives of organizations and will enable them to work with Patient Safety Organizations in a seamless way, stated Anna Hajek, President and CEO of Clarity Group, Inc.



The Healthcare SafetyZone's174; Portal is a web-based event management software tool that provides immediate access to staff for reporting of events, secure and immediate notification to those who need to know for immediate action and follow-up as needed, and integrated analysis functions with report generation and graphing. It is fully HIPAA compliant. The Common Formats Version adds a set of templates to the Portal for immediate use, which can be supplemented by any number of additional templates to extend event management across the organization.



The Healthcare SafetyZone's174; Portal can be used on its own or in combination with working with Clarity PSO; a Division of Clarity Group, Inc., which has been listed as a Patient Safety Organization by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) effective November 19, 2008.
