RTDynamics Announces Immediate Availability of RotorLib

RTDynamics, a leading rotorcraft simulation company announced that their innovative helicopter simulation technology is now mature enough to leave the research department and is immediately available as a COTS product under the name "RotorLib". RotorLib is a C++ programming library containing a physically-based helicopter dynamics simulation model and an easy to use high level control layer, which fills the gap between helicopter dynamics and the AI code.



The high level control library works like an intelligent autopilot for helicopters and is the first COTS product of its type. RotorLib makes it possible to dynamically script scenarios while maintaining physically based simulation fidelity.



RotorLib aims to improve visual simulations and games by providing the following benefits:

Allow AI programmability of physically-based helicopter models.

Significantly simplify development of high fidelity simulation scenarios where helicopters are involved as enemy forces (CGF-Computer Generated Forces).

Simplify physics based helicopter-terrain interaction, allowing even more real life missions to be simulated.
