The 2007 Employers of Distinction awards recognize local firms that have gone that extra mile to ensure employees are engaged and even excited about their jobs. Now in its second year, the awards program salutes ten Ottawa employers who demonstrate a commitment to their employees.
Organized by the Ottawa HR Forum, Talentmap and the Ottawa Business Journal, the Employer of Distinction Awards is a unique, employee-driven recognition program, with the winners chosen through the results of anonymous surveys. Employees identified Macadamian's profit-sharing, flexible hours, additional holidays and exceptional environment as what made it a great place to work.
"What makes this survey special is that it's the employees who decide. I can't tell you how satisfying it is to know that the people who work here feel we deserve this award," said Virginie Bastien, HR Manager at Macadamian Technologies.
The top ten employers will be showcased in the fall issue of the Ottawa Business Journal's Ottawa HR magazine, available on November 26, and at a special awards ceremony on November 27, to be held at the Brookstreet hotel.
