Affordable Art for Everyday Objects New Design Studio and Website Offers Laser Etchings on Location at Tatuit

Affordable art is one way of describing what is offered at Tatuit (http://tatuit.com). From its design studio in Northwest Portland, the innovative company is going international with the launch of its website this month.

Its mission, according to founder and CEO Niranjan Vasireddy, is to "become the world's largest platform for people to find ways to express themselves through 'splashing' art on various objects. This is something original and different and offers a fresh means of self-expression to both artists and ordinary people who want more art in their lives."

"Splashing" means applying designs -- of your own choosing or those available through Tatuit and its community of artists -- on objects ranging from iPods and laptops to wineglasses and mementos.

"We offer the newest and most novel medium for artists and art lovers to express themselves through placing art on daily objects," said Vasireddy. "We create unique products and strive to make art affordable. Whether for your own products or our products, your art or our art, we will 'tatu' it."

Tatuit is all about self-expression. The studio and the website provide a unique way for people from all walks of life to stand out from the crowd. Tatuit was created from the simple vision of making art personal -- for everyone. Now anyone and everyone can be a collector.

Tatuit is exactly what it sounds like. Using the latest in laser technology, designs are etched permanently on to nearly any object. Think of it as a tattoo for the objects. Each piece can be hand-designed and "Tatu-ed" at the design studio. Clients will also bring in their own objects to be "Tatu-ed".

Tatuit allows clients to customize not only, iPods, laptops, cell phones or other personal objects, but also anything that is laser engraveable -- from wedding gifts to travel souvenirs. Even Often, they will etch devices for style, branding or as a theft deterrent.

As part of the Grand Launch of the Tatuit and Tatuit.com (http://tatuit.com), the first in a series of "Meet the Artist" events will be held on Saturday April 26 at the Tatuit Design Studio located at 2368 NW Thurman, Portland, OR 97210. The Studio hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

This first "Showcase Event" will feature Tyler Sticka (http://www.tylersticka.com), who will appear in person to talk about his work and speak with attendees. Sticka is a designer, artist, speaker and educator specializing in identity-driven new media. He is a winner of an Imation Computer Arts Award. Examples of Sticka's art will be on display.

He has created web sites, branding, iconography and illustration for clients such as Nike, Synnex and Providence Health. He has also contributed art to benefits for autism research and victims of Hurricane Katrina. Sticka has been called "one uniquely talented individual" by animator Mike McKinney and "a smart young artist to keep our eyes on" by cartoonist and author Scott McCloud.
