Barcoding Inc., the nationally recognized leader in data-capture solutions, has developed a new solution that enables warehouse and retail managers to track the location of their mobile powered carts through the warehouse and shop floor. The technology can pinpoint the location of a mobile cart to within three feet by utilizing a company'ss existing wireless infrastructure.
How exactly does it work
By assigning each powered cart its own individual IP address and location RFID tag, the location of the cart can be pinpointed in a company'ss facility using the existing wireless
infrastructure without any additional monthly airtime charges. The tag uses proprietary logarithms to measure the radio signals to the nanosecond and performs over 300 location
calculations per second.
When you have a cart that carries tens of thousands of dollars in computer equipment on it around the warehouse floor, being able to accurately and easily monitor where that cart is at
all times is critical to keeping your operations running smoothly, said Jay Steinmetz, CEO of Barcoding Inc. This solution is designed for large warehouses and retail centers that have
20, 50, 100, or more carts roaming through the facility.
