The 27th Annual National BDPA Conference will officially begin with an Opening Ceremony and reception to be held August 18, 2005. Leading Edge Workshops and Seminars: Featuring seminars taught by CISCO, FBI and Lucent



Over 30 professional development workshops and seminars will be offered to attendees, with an emphasis on the theme "Driving Innovation, Bringing Value, and Embracing Change".Our goal is to bring workshops and seminars that will put your career in overdrive. 2005 seminar tracks include Technology, Professional Development, Business, and College.



High School Computer Competition (HSCC):



Celebrating 20 years of educating high school students in the field of Information Technology, the HSCC is an opportunity for over 30 teams to compete for scholarships. The HSCC has grown to nearly 30 teams of high school students from BDPA chapters throughout the nation and is designed to introduce 9th through 12th grade students to the field of Information Technology, encourage them to seek higher levels of education, and groom many of them to become our next generation of IT professionals.



IT Showcase: Sponsored by Limited Brands and Hewlett Packard



The IT Showcase provides a forum for HSCC Alumni, College Students, and current SITES participants to share their knowledge of advanced computing topics with attendees, colleges, universities, and businesses. Past participants presentations covered such topics as genetic algorithms, wearable computing technologies, web technologies, and computer graphics technologies.Students compete for prizes in two categories, college (undergraduate) and high.



Youth Technology Camp: Sponsored by Dallas Airport



This 3-day camp will introduce high school students to technical solutions and skills through seminars and hands-on workshops. Students with an interest in Information Technology or are not aware of IT will have an opportunity to gain experience from CIOs, entrepreneurs, IT professionals, and educators.



Career and Technology Expo



This free event will welcome over 2500 people looking for career opportunities. The BDPA IT Golf Classic is held on Wednesday at a world-class golf course and is a fund-raiser for our youth programs.
