Independent Analyst Evaluates StackSafe Test Center as On Fire



StackSafe, Inc. (http://www.stacksafe.com), a provider of pre-production staging and testing solutions for IT operations teams, announced today the release of a June 2008 report titled Tech Horizons: Evaluating StackSafe's Test Center Risk Reduction Solution that rates StackSafe Test Center (http://www.stacksafe.com/product-overview) as "on fire". The report suggests that Test Center is "one to watch both as a competitor and a potential partner."



"StackSafe's solution is a direct complement to change control, as it provides much-needed validation before entering an application into production," wrote Jean-Pierre Garbani, VP and principal analyst with Forrester. "There are certainly other means of reducing deployment risks, but they are clearly more time-and resource-intensive, which explains their limited use in enterprises."



Forrester Tech Horizons reports look at four fundamental criteria when deciding the potential for market adoption, the technology must present a technical advantage over existing technologies, it must present an economic advantage for the client of the new technology, it must satisfy the vested interests in the technology that will be replaced, and it must show these advantages in the shortest possible time frame.



The Forrester analysis found that 42,011 North American companies, ranging from small enterprises to the Global 2000, will engage in application changes, upgrades, disaster recovery, or outsourcing applications. This could be used as a guide to evaluate the market potential in the US.

StackSafe Test Center enables users to import production systems into a testing "sandbox" in order to conduct comprehensive staging, testing, analysis and reporting. Using virtualization technology, the imported system copies are networked into a working software infrastructure stack that closely represents the actual production configuration. IT Operations teams can then execute Test Center's pre-packaged and customized tests to understand the impact of changes before they touch the live environment.
