Wireless Technology Comes to Rural Downeast Maine

It's8217;s a new day in Cutler, ME. With the development of the Cutler Business Park at the former Cutler Naval Communications Center, the businesses and residents in the area have access to wireless technology. Owners of the park, Cutler Commercial Park, LLC, contracted with Axiom Technologies to bring high-speed internet service to the businesses in the Park. The radio transmitter, which was installed on the top of the 150 ft. water tower at the site, makes the technology available to anyone within site of the tower. This includes residents at Beachwood Bay Estates and the surrounding area.

The wireless connectivity does not affect telephone lines in the area. It is a fixed signal similar to that used for satellite TV.There are no land lines as found with a DSL internet connection.



Axiom Technologies, with offices in Machias and Jonesport, Maine, is a data telecom company serving Washington and Hancock Counties.



The Cutler Business Park is located at the Route 191 access to the former Cutler Naval Communications Base in Cutler, ME. It offers ten commercial buildings and a total of 100,000 square feet available for offices, warehousing, light manufacturing, automotive and retail operations.
