This year's prestigious 118 awards were held at The Lowry Hotel Manchester City Centre. Hosted by the very funny Gina Yashere the best directory enquiries services in the world have been rightly rewarded. This year's award entrants were treated to a champagne reception and mouth watering five course meal at Manchester's first five star hotel.
This award has sought to identify the organization which demonstrates a supportive culture, which starts before recruitment, continues throughout induction, and is maintained for the duration of the employment, irrespective of the employee's status or position. The Best Training and Development Award was kindly sponsored by The Praxis Centre and presented by Jacquie Drake Co Founder and Director of the centre.

The awards judging panel is made up of experts in the market place and included representatives from The Pierz Group, Thomson Directories, Performance House, Lindley Consulting, Scansoft, Performix Technologies, Telecommunications Users Association, Volt Delta and 118tracker.com.
Finally deciding a winner between these two outstanding organizations was particularly difficult for the judges. In both there are well established processes, there is an understanding of the value of training and development, there is a follow up and performance measurement. In fact both organizations can be a model in the industry. There can only be one winner.
The winner demonstrated well established training and hr process, a supportive culture for each and every person.
