New Service for Mobile Messaging



Yozzo Co., Ltd has launched the service; Yozzo, an operator independent service for mobile messaging.



The service brings a completely new attitude to the ever-growing Thai mobile messaging generation. Personal communications has become not only cheaper, but more fun.



Compared to standard SMS, Yozzo is approximately 5 times cheaper -- a Yozzo text message only cost approximately 0.20 baht (0.005 USD) compared to the normal rate of 3 baht.



A standard Thai SMS message can only support 79 Thai characters where as the Yozzo J-SMS (Java SMS) supports up to 2000 characters.



A chat module is also available, so users can chat with several friends or family members from either their mobile phones or via the internet.



Our main objective has been to create not only a cheaper service, but one that would deliver the messages with an instant. Recent congestion of the GSM network in Thailand, due to heavy traffic usage caused by operator price wars has seen a lot messages disappearing or arrive hours after they have been sent.



It doesn's8217;t really help to send a SMS saying; I's8217;ll be late, if you arrive hours before the SMS, says Allan T. Rasmussen, Managing director, Yozzo Co., Ltd.



The service is independent of telecom operator and geographic location, the only requirements are a GPRS connection, and that the phone supports Java MIDP 2.0. All major mobile phone brands are supported.



Yozzo's8217;s technology is based on Java and Internet technologies and the current services will shortly be followed by a number of new, personalized information services.
