"We are very excited by the ground-breaking capabilities of the new Intel Atom processor," said Jagat Acharya, President, InForce Computing. "With its very low power consumption, the IFC-9112S is the ideal AMC compute platform for applications ranging from WiMax base station controllers and mobile service platforms to network-centric medical equipment."
"The ultra-low power (Intel Atom processor) helps InForce Computing to deliver the critical features that system designers demand for next-generation mobile network infrastructure and platforms," said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing, Low Power Embedded Products Division, Intel.
Intel Atom processor is fabricated using the latest Intel 45nm process and Hi-K dielectric technology. The Intel System Controller Hub is a low-power, highly integrated chipset with integrated 3D graphics. This extreme power saving solution consumes just one-tenth of the power of previous ultra low-voltage, single core Intel platforms.
In addition to being compatible with AMC.0, AMC.1 and AMC.2 specifications, the IFC-9112S can be deployed as a low-profile computing platform for a wide range of embedded applications in emerging markets such as next generation handheld devices used for mobile payments and financial services, inventory management, and interactive multi-media clients.
Standard features on the IFC-9112S include 1 GB DDR2 memory, 16 GB flash memory, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, a USB 2.0 connector, and LVDS and SDVO graphics ports. In addition, the IFC-9112S can support an additional Ethernet management port and on-board solid-state storage device.
InForce Computing offers fully-customized variants of the IFC-9112S requiring only final productization within the OEM system environment. InForce services also include flexible NPI options to allow the products to be integrated into multiple supply-chain solutions.
