Geo Extends its Fibre Network through London Sewers

Geo, a leading provider of bespoke fibre networks (http://www.geo-uk.net/), today announced further extension of its fibre network in London, connecting into a major Data Centre on London's South Bank. Geo's latest network development through the sewers in London will enable companies around London Bridge to benefit from faster and more efficient connectivity.

This new route extends Geo's existing Central London 'Green Zone' network across London Bridge, along Southwark Street, behind the Tate Modern and terminating at a major Data Centre in Hopton Street. Geo offers capacities between 1 - 10Gbps as well as dedicated point-to-point fibre, providing customers with a more flexible approach to managing their growing bandwidth requirements.

Geo is the only provider whose fibre network runs deep through the sewers of London, ensuring higher reliability, security and reducing the downtime caused by upgrades and routine works. Other advantages of routing fibre through the sewers include the considerably reduced lead times and expenditure brought by avoiding costly digs through the city. By extending Geo's network South of the Thames, companies along this route can take advantage of these benefits for the first time.

"Geo will continue its aggressive network expansion into the second half of 2008, following last year's successful 20% increase in fibre across our London Green Zone," commented Mark Ryder, Sales Director, Geo.Metro. "This latest development will allow us to sharpen our focus on providing leading Financial, Public Sector, Professional Service and Media companies in the area with our flexible, high bandwidth solutions."
