SIP Provisioning Engine Reduces Complexity of Triple Play Service Deployment

Incognito Software Inc., a global provider of IP management and provisioning software, today introduced SIP Commander, the first SIP-based VoIP and multimedia device provisioning engine to help service providers and telecommunications companies accelerate the roll-out of high-margin voice, data, and video services for residential and business customers. Recognizing the accelerated movement for the SIP protocol to become the defacto application protocol across converged IP-based networks, Incognito has designed SIP Commander to reduce the complexity and labor of configuring SIP multimedia termination adapters (MTAs) from multiple vendors and shorted deployment time for providers in a highly competitive market.

SIP Commander includes easy-to-use multi-vendor configuration templates, allowing broadband providers to quickly set up MTAs from wide variety of vendors such as Motorola, Arris, Scientific Atlanta, Cisco, and Linksys, for use in cable, DSL, PON, and wireless networks. Due to that lack of standards, each SIP MTA vendor has created their own configuration file format and uses different encryption algorithms to encode the files. SIP Commander eliminates the time-consuming task of manually producing these files with its unique dynamic configuration capability, even for the most complex files that include telephone numbers.

SIP Commander supports the provisioning of embedded and stand-alone MTAs, as well as two- to 20-line commercial MTAs aimed at the small business market. For broadband providers with both SIP and PacketCable protocol needs, Incognito's Broadband Command Center (BCC) included SIP support and is the only product on the market to support both protocols.

"The quick adoption of SIP for a range of applications has shown that it is has one the emerging protocol battle and will be the protocol for broadband providers planning to launch advanced multimedia services such as voice, video, gaming, interactive TV, and video on demand," said Patricia Steadman, CEO of Incognito Software. "Incognito anticipated the impact of this new standard for IP-based networks, and based on its long-term investment in its carrier-class provisioning platform was able to add support for SIP. With SIP Commander, and our larger Broadband Command Center solution, broadband providers will enjoy a quick time to market in launching the latest multimedia services, and massive scalability to expand as needed."

SIP Commander is now available from Incognito Software. For more information, visit http://www.incognito.com.
