Leapstone Systems Promotes Industry Veteran George Hartley to Lead...

Leapstone Systems, a leading supplier of service delivery and content management solutions for service providers, today announced the promotion of George Hartley to vice president-engineering, reporting to Rick Orriss, the company's8217;s president and CEO.

He succeeds Cheng Liu, who successfully led the engineering team through a number of product releases and customer deployments but recently elected to return to his West Coast home after five years of coast-to-coast commuting.

Hartley joined Leapstone in July 2005 as senior director of product strategy and management. He has 20 years of experience at Telcordia Technologies and Bellcore, its predecessor, in developing innovative communications systems that have been deployed by major carriers as part of their service infrastructure.

's8220;After a year with Leapstone and familiarity with the team previously led by Cheng Liu, George has the right credentials and experience to join our senior leadership team,'s8221; said Orriss. 's8220;His extensive industry experience, especially in building carrier-grade software solutions, will help ensure Leapstone continues its unsurpassed level of meeting our customers's8217; needs as we continue to grow along with the market.'s8221;

Prior to joining Leapstone, Hartley was executive director at Telcordia, where he was responsible for building carrier-grade network systems for wireline and wireless carriers, including a globally deployed Real-Time Charging System and a Class 5 VoIP softswitch. During the 1990s, Hartley led Telcordia's8217;s entry into the wireless carrier market with the development of a Wireless Intelligent Network Services platform and a Home Location Register (HLR).

's8220;Top-tier operators are generating revenues from services enabled by Leapstone's8217;s suite of carrier-grade products today, validating Leapstone's8217;s leadership as a strategic technology partner,'s8221; said Hartley. 's8220;I am committed to helping Leapstone engineer solutions that enable operators to further capitalize on the vast array of emerging next-generation opportunities such as IPTV, Voice over IP (VoIP) and fixed-mobile convergence.'s8221;

Hartley's8217;s career began in 1986 when he joined Bellcore and participated in the pioneering program to develop Intelligent Network and Advanced Intelligent Network solutions that serve as the basis for toll-free 's8220;800's8221; service throughout North America.

Hartley holds a bachelor's8217;s degree in mathematics from the University of Rochester and a master's8217;s degree in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
