Long established as a residential interior design firm, Cristina Hadzi Interiors (www.hadzidesign.com) successfully marries trademark international glamour appeal with the functional requirements of a high end restaurant. More than ever, commercial clients are requesting a feeling of comfort, beauty, and personal detailing most often associated with residential projects for their doctors' offices, restaurants, and retail stores.

Miss Hadzi's work is deeply influenced by the art, culture, and soul of Rome where she was born and raised. The daughter of celebrated sculptor Dimitri Hadzi (www.hadzi.com) she grew up in an ambiance of abundant historical references and strong visual imagery combined with a personal understanding of the creative process; these elements inspired her sense of style and nurtured her own artistic gifts.

In a recent New York Times review, Boe@324 was described as having "polished dining spaces, at once extravagant, excessive and expensive, the food almost a vague afterthought from the distractingly elaborate interiors."

The restaurant's exterior is reminiscent of a single family home, therefore creating interior spaces that would convey the intimacy and personality of a private residence was a natural evolution. Although two larger formal dining areas were included, most of the restaurant is a series of consecutive smaller rooms with different yet inter-related themes. Bountiful draperies throughout - at windows as well as entryways - in lavish silks, velvets, tapestries, and suede mute the usual restaurant bustle and allow guests to enjoy a serene dining experience.

The magical entry way of lush burgundy red velvet leads to several cozier dining nooks, including one of pale blue satin as a backdrop for a pair of black crystal chandeliers. A dramatic double-height atrium rich in chocolate brown with gold and teal accents provides a modern twist on classic Italian opulence.

Cristina Hadzi Interiors opened in May 1995 after she apprenticed with leading interior designers Robert Currie, Richard Keith Langham, and T. Keller Donovan. Her practice includes private residences in Manhattan, London, and Paris, as well as summer homes in the Hamptons and Connecticut.
