OptiTrack Motion Capture System Featured on ABCs Dancing with the Stars

More than 16 million viewers witnessed motion capture in action, as Dancing with the Stars, and USC researcher Dr. McNitt-Gray used an OptiTrack system to demonstrate performance capture and motion analysis. The system included 18 motion capture cameras and a laptop to capture two dancers doing lifts, complex dance moves, and fluid motion.

NaturalPoint President, Jim Richardson said, 's8220;Technically, capturing two fast moving, professional dancers can be a challenging motion capture task, especially in the short time frame of national TV. Seeing the real time performance of an OptiTrack system, at a cost-effective price, is really exciting from a company and consumer standpoint.'s8221;

An 18 camera motion capture system is priced under $12,000, and takes less than a day to install, creating portable solutions in a variety of settings.

OptiTrack systems are currently in use at major game development studios, medical and bio-mechanical institutions, and countless production facilities, providing affordable, high-quality motion capture.

NaturalPoint can next be seen at the military training and simulation tradeshow, I/ITSEC, December 1st-4th, 2008, in Orlando, Florida.
