Invented by Polshek Partnership Architects alum and architectural designer, Andrew Comfort (http://www.PlayAndDesign.org), and inspired by his grandfather's wooden marble run, Q-BA-MAZE (pronounced: cube amaze) is a smart, new construction toy that amazes players of all ages as they imagine and build colorful transparent towers with a simple system of interlocking cubes, then watch as shimmering steel balls randomly collide and roll through their amazing invention.
"It sounds crazy -- but I spent three painstaking years designing just three cubes," said Andrew Comfort, Q-BA-MAZE designer and founder. "The fact that I.D. Magazine finds Q-BA-MAZE ingenious is both a huge honor and a long-awaited affirmation of my sanity!"
I.D. Magazine is a favored resource for graphic and product designers in North America and abroad and has won five National Magazine Awards -- four for General Excellence and one for Design.
Each November, I.D. Magazine, the leading critical magazine covering the art, business and culture of design, reviews new products from the past year and selects the most innovative designs for its annual "New + Notable" issue. Joining Q-BA-MAZE as I.D. Magazine's "Most Ingenious Products" are: iPhone by Apple, Roadster by Tesla, Knicker Chair by Blu Dot, and Lime Bicycle by TREK.
