The two designs , pink polka dot and sock monkeys, are 24" in diameter and 33" long, easy to remove, fit most portable cribs and baby swings, and can be folded down for easy packing and travel.
The stroller umbrellas have been mommy-tested and approved by savvy baby experts including CoolMomPicks.com MomToBeDepot.com LillePunkin.com PurlMama.com and Daily Candy Kids.
The company was founded by now-parents Heather Leslie and Brian Winterling who took an around-the-world trip just before starting a family. While in countries like Thailand and Vietnam, they adopted the local custom of walking with a parasol to help block the relentless summer sun. In Europe, they noticed that most of the children's buggies were parasol-equipped as well, and wondered what the strollers were wearing back home.
When they returned to Denver, with its 300+ days of sunshine, they were surrounded by strollers with draped blankets, parasols that were poorly constructed and just plain boring, or worse yet, nothing at all. The couple has now introduced its first two designs under the Shady Baby name, with three new designs arriving this summer.
Both parasols retail for $35 and are available at www.shadybaby.com.
