Frida Kalo Is The Rage Even Though She Will Be 100 Years Old
Famous for her own art, eventhough she was married to master artist Diego Rivera, her paintings reached a pinacle of art history when last week, one of her paintings reached a staggering 5.7 million dollars at auction.
This limited first edition doll was licenced to the 'sEMY doll group in Mexico City who comissioned the artist and contemporary friend to Diego, Jose Guadalupe Barrios to create the famous face , in liew of her comming 100th aniversary celebrations.
For this launch, The Mexico City filarmonica was called upon to create a special CD wich is included, and The licensors, the Kalo family, joined in with a special edition biography.
The likeness in all detail is splendid, Her face shows the youthfulness she once had, as quoted by master artist Barrios who knew her as a young struggling artist.
The EMY doll Group have done an incredible job to have the doll look like Frida and the perfect copies of her dress and jewelry made in miniature, are astounding, we are very pleased quoted Mrs. kalo.
Collectors of the world.. take note, the first 1000 limited edition dolls will have numbered and signed registration certificates. The kalo family plans to be present to autograph at the grand launch at a famous retailer soon.
The family anounced the doll will be sent to Oprah, who might feature it in one of her tv programs ; that the first doll created was sent To Maddona as a special thank you gift.
