NMEDA Promotes Training in Disability Transportation and Addresses Safety Issues with Service Schools
NMEDA, the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association will be holding the three remaining Service School Opportunities for 2005 beginning in September. The schools are certified classes on equipment installation by the manufacturers.
The USF/NMEDA Service School will be held in Tampa, Florida from September 20-22. The presentations will be made by 12 manufactures. The first Regional Service School held in five years will be held October 15-17 in Reno, Nevada. There will also be twelve manufacturer presentations. This is a model that NMEDA plans on offering in all regions of NMEDA membership (Northern, Southern, Mid-West, and Western) in the neat future. The final Service School will be the VMI in Phoenix, Arizona on November 8. There will be three presentations.
All three Service Schools will include a NMEDA presentations that will include Guidelines, (NHTSA) The National Highway Transportation Safety Administrations "Make Inoperative," and QAP, The Quality Assurance Program that sets the standards for disability transportation safety standards.
