El Al Joins Forces With the Israel Cancer Association to Raise Awareness and Funds



EL AL Airlines, the national carrier of Israel's is today proud to confirm its collaboration with the Israel Cancer Association (ICA) in the fight against cancer. During September-October 2008 on all EL AL flights to Israel (http://www.elal.com) and across all of EL AL's international routes, passengers will be able to buy limited edition, signed prints by famous Israeli artists. Each print will cost $180 (less than half the normal market price). Every dollar raised will be donated to cancer research and for the care of Israeli cancer patients. All original works of art can be viewed by passengers in the EL AL web site and some of them are presented at the EL AL King David Lounge at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

As a cornerstone of the project, Twelve well-known Israeli artists each donated one original artwork toward this effort. An exclusive series of 60 prints were produced for each original piece of art. Each piece of art will be a welcome addition to a home or office as well as marking a worthwhile charitable donation. As a key part of the fundraising program, EL AL will also show a specially produced in-flight film on all ElAl Israel Flights (http://www.elal.com) giving further information and raising awareness of the partnership and the ICA organization.

Some of Israel's most well known artists have come together in this worthwhile project and contributed their work for free for sale on flights to Israel (http://www.elal.com) and beyond. Some of these artists include; Menashe Kadishman, Yosl Bergner, Meir Pichhadze, Yigal Ozeri, David Reeb, Zoya Cherkassky, Oded Feingersh, Joshua Griffit and Uri Lifshitz. The families of the late artists Reuven Rubin, Nachum Gutman and Moshe Castel have each donated one drawing from the estate of the artist.
