Homeless Man Travels Around the World

Over 100 million people throughout the world are homeless, according to the United Nations Center for Human Settlement. But given the choice, would anybody actually want to live that way Gary Garner, a vagabond for the twenty-first century and author of the new book 'Through the Eyes of Madness', made the decision one day to abandon his home, his job and all of his material possessions, and embark on a seven-continent exploration.

"I quit my job as the successful CEO, president and owner of several Seattle-based firms and embarked on a global journey with nothing more than my backpack," says Mr. Garner. "And I never looked back."

For the past five years, Mr. Garner has literally been homeless and jobless, and more or less without material possessions. While roaming the earth in search of a simpler life, he experienced:

* Witnessing a brutal murder on the South China Sea

* The wrath of an angry mob in the midst of a Nepalese civil war

* His own near-death at the heights of Mt. Everest

* Being ambushed and robbed in Costa Rica by very unusual suspects

* Countless other harrowing escapes that illustrated valuable and moving life lessons

Along the way, Mr. Garner kept countless detailed journals and notes, and crafted amazing artwork. 'Through the Eyes of Madness', is richly illustrated with scores of photos and drawings, and each chapter details the real life-and-death situations he continually put himself into-many of which were seemingly un-survivable.

The author also has a mysterious surprise waiting for anyone who can decipher the encrypted codes within his journal, which point to physical clues planted around the world. From beginning to end, 'Through the Eyes of Madness' is laced with a visual and mathematical secret code-but unlike its fictional cousins, such as 'The Da Vinci Code', this book's secret is very real.

Mr. Garner has been invited as a VIP guest to the fiftieth anniversary of the Grammy Awards.
